Keeping Track | My Zara Track Pants + Thrifted Mets Tee

White pants after Labor Day?

I know, I know. But is the whole “no white after Labor Day” thing really a rule anymore? I think for Generation Millennial Pink, this is a thing of the past.

However! I do concede that wearing white after temperatures start to drop feels off…

Which is why it’s a good thing these Zara pants come in black!

If you haven’t already tried the ever-popular track pants trend, I highly recommend incorporating them into your fall wardrobe!

I like these Zara “flowy pants” as opposed to the skinnier leg styles because I feel the wide leg helps sporty meet classy. Think, Girl Boss. Classy and powerful.

A theory I gravitate toward a lot when styling outfits is that opposites attract. So, I played down these pants by matching them with a Mets tee that I found at Brooklyn Flea. One of the vendors at this popular flea market in DUMBO specialized in old, vintage tees, tanks, and jerseys. (My heaven!) I think a good rule of thumb when styling sports tees and jerseys is to balance them with feminine touches. Like a good red lip and heels!

That being said, the reason I think you should incorporate the track pant trend into your wardrobe, is because of its versatility. You can wear these pants with a tee as shown, with a bodysuit (make sure its the thong kind so you don’t show lines), or a crop top!

I wore these pants with a lace, white body suit for an InStyle event, and I wore them with a tan, cropped, cashmere mock-neck for a date night.

To play up the blue lining in the pants and the Mets shirt, I repped my Fossil fam as always with my new Fossil Maya Crossbody  (currently on sale) in “Horizon Blue.” When these pictures were taken, I was exploring the seaport district of NYC for the first time. The Fossil Maya Crossbody is perfect for weekend adventures and casual exploring–its size and multiple compartments allow for space and organization; its combination crossbody strap and shoulder strap allow you to go hands-free. City-girl adventuring musts.

I kept my accessories simple, with a long, thin-chain, golden necklace from Nordstrom, equally thin and golden hoops, and a classic Fossil piece, the Q Venture smartwatch.

This watch has been a wardrobe staple for me! I’ve always liked watches that are larger and a bit masculine in build. I throw this watch on all of the time (hehe) because 1- it’s beautiful and 2 – it’s functional. Fossil offers hybrid smartwatches, so you can get the benefits of having a smartwatch, without looking techy–but the Q Venture is not a hybrid, and I like that.

The digital “futuristic” screen juxtaposes the regular look of its wristband in the cutest way. (I’m a techy girl though and geek out over the quality and display Fossil’s digital screens offer.)
